Sandrine Curtiss is a self-taught artist who, inspired by the talent of her older sister, started drawing portraits with graphite pencils. In the summer of 2002 she won a full scholarship for the Art Instruction Schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota, through which she learned the basics of drawing by correspondence for two years. This great opportunity gave her the habit of drawing on a regular basis which she's done since. She mostly draws small format (ACEO) animals in colored pencils, but she also likes the freedom of adding more details with larger formats. Lately, she's been trying out all sorts of new mediums, supports, and subjects, which gives her great pleasure.
