30 Faces/30 Days - April 2020

$ 30.00 USD

The Challenge

Create a drawing of the human face every day for 30 days, starting April 1, 2020.

Each day of the challenge, you'll get an inspiring reference photo and a video drawing tip from one of six extraordinary featured artists. Watch the tip, put it into practice by drawing the photo and share your drawing with a global community of portrait artists in Sktchy Art School.

The challenge is sponsored by Faber-Castell, maker of world-class art supplies for more than 250 years.

Meet Your Mentors

Mike Creighton

Tiffany S. DaVanzo

Tiffany is a Certified Medical Illustrator in East Tennessee. Her portraits are influenced by her love of anatomy and desire to add unexpected twists. (SktchyInstagram)

Vin Ganapathy

NYC based artist/Illustrator Vin Ganapathy draws on multiple influences that inform his imagery and work. Mixing pen, pencil and paint, Vin’s illustrations are marked by fine, almost-frail line work and sudden bursts of color. (SktchyInstagram)

Dylan Sara

Australian-grown and ripened in Europe, Dylan now resides in fairytale Germany. He collects nuts, berries and flowers with his three young children to make ink for his portraits. A sense of connectedness and a relationship to his subject form the core of his artistic practice. (SktchyInstagram)

Marissa Swinghammer

Based in Sydney, Australia, Marissa is an American who has lived abroad with her family for a number of years. She prefers ink, especially fountain pen and brush pens with their bold and variable line, pencil and watercolour in a sketchbook or loose sheets. (Sktchy, Instagram)

Cécile Yadro

Cécile is a French artist who uses both digital and traditional tools. She likes to try new styles and new techniques in portraits, landscapes and still life paintings. She’s an urban sketcher and graphic facilitator as well, so drawing and painting are a daily routine. (Sktchy, Instagram)

The featured artists have hand-picked an inspiring reference photo for each of their drawing tips from our library of hundreds of thousands of faces.
